Hey friends, I hope everyone is having a great week. The Philmont is about to get cranked back up and hit the road for the weekend. We have been home contacting people about shows for about 3 weeks. Were working on a solid run for the up coming months and trying to hit places requested by many friends via Facebook. Ive been storing Burney our bus here at my house so now its time to wash him up before we hit the road.
My pastor last week preached about being rooted in Christ. He had on stage a small planted tree that was fruitful, and also a twig from another tree. He had the illustration of how you splice a twig to a vine or trunk and over time that branch will bear fruit. The illustration was based off of John 15 verses 1 through 5. Also Philmont had a bible study on this too not so long ago, but it says: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
I thought it was great, its a great reminder that we can not do anything without Him. Also how we need to stay rooted in our Faith.
