Hello hello hello! This past week went by pretty fast considering all the travelling we did. Though our flights into Canada were riddled with hardship (see Scott’s blog below), we had a smooth and easy return to the states. Made it to our final destination, Newark, then crashed at a nearby hotel. The next day we played at Seaside Heights Beach, more commonly known as THE Jersey Shore. The boardwalk strip along the beach was really cool, the weather was great, and we actually saw several members of the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore walking around. The show took place at the end of the strip right on the beach; we were playing with our friends Seventh Time Down, who kindly let us use their amps and drums. Anyway, it was a great time, and we got to meet some cool new people. Finally, we returned home yesterday, and that feels good.

Before I proceed, I would like to remind you all that we are still accepting and asking for donations to the new guitar fund! If you haven’t read the tragic tale of my guitar’s demise yet, please scroll down a few posts and check it out. Donations of any size/kind are appreciated! Our Paypal account is if you are interested. Thanks.

Here is good news: this coming week will be some of the last recording sessions we have for our new EP! We will break ground on the final two tracks, and have all the music done on them by next weekend. As you may have read, Scott is currently dealing with some physical vocal problems (read his post below for more info), so we have to wait a few weeks before we can finish tracking vocals. We have been playing several new songs live for the last little bit now, and they are sounding great! We will hopefully announce a release date and tracklisting soon, maybe even a pre-order!

We have a new Myspace layout! It is pretty sweet! Check it out.

New albums came out yesterday from House of Heroes as well as Arcade Fire. As soon as I’m done typing this blog up, I’m heading out to Best Buy to purchase them! Brian Wilson is releasing his newest album later this month, and Anberlin’s newest offering comes out September 7th! It is a good month for music.

Well, I hope you are all enjoying your these last few weeks of summertime! We are going to be posting a lot of Fall tour dates in the near future, so be on the lookout for those! Have a great week.

Three Songs to Buy on iTunes This Week:
1. “The Suburbs” by Arcade Fire

2. “Love Is For the Middle Class” by House of Heroes

3. “Impossible” by Anberlin

  1. I’m excited about the new stuff! :] the new song you played at Sonshine was amazing! :]

  2. I am STOKED about new music :o) Praying for Scott and for funds to pour in :o)

  3. Sounds like you guys had FUN in Jersey Shore! 🙂 Question about the guitar, how much do those usually cost?

I got to see House of Heroes / Seabird on their latest tour when they passed through Dallas, the week before I saw you guys in South Dakota. I’d actually never listened to their music before that show (*shame*). But I love it! Got their new album too…

Hoping to see you guys in two weeks!!!
