I’m currently writing to you from The Wired Coffee House and Music Venue in downtown Newburg, IN.  Thanks for the free wifi.

We’ve been in town all day killing time.  We hit the usual suspects (Malls, Target…twice, Walmart, etc) then wound up at a rad little skate park called Killer Skate Park.  Since school was still in we had the place all to ourselves.  We met the owner, Glen, and chatted with him a good bit.  It was cool to hear about how he’d dreamed of owning his own park and actually followed through and built it with his own hands.  Fun fact- he designed the park using the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game!

Tonight’s show was fun- every show is fun- though the crowd was really thin.  The two opening bands had dropped off the bill for one reason or another and the owner was left to make a few phone calls to try and bring another band in 20 minutes before the doors opened.  A couple of local acoustic rockers dropped everything last minute to join the show and that’s amazing.  There’s some real talent here in Evansville [listening to Travis Thompson now].  I was grateful for the few familiar faces that came to hang out.  It only takes a couple of special people to make a strange town feel like home when we’re passing through.

In a couple of hours we’ll be leaving hear and heading up to Agape Fest in Greenville, IL.  I’m pretty excited about the show.  I’m actually going to be bringing my 13-year-old cousin Jon up on stage to play bass during The Difference.  It should be a blast- it’s a main stage Saturday slot so there’s gonna be a ton of people- he’s excited to be a rockstar for 3 minutes! (there will be video)

Hope to see some of you out there!
