So, if you haven’t already gathered this from us Philmont boys, we’re all super strapped for cash. The “Rockstar” lifestyle is not as financially lucrative as you may have imagined. To be honest, I’ve been living off my savings for over a year now supplementing it occasionally with money from odd jobs or from selling stuff on ebay. So every couple of months (probably more like weeks) me and the wife start freaking out about money.

We both quit our jobs about a year ago to start touring full-time. (For those of you who aren’t in the know, my wife Britt travels with us doing road/finance and merch management.) A couple of days ago she looked back on all our spending from the time we quit our jobs (she tracks it all in a spreadsheet) and found something rather cool. Calculating our monthly bills and stuff we should have run out of money about last December but instead, we still have HALF of the starting amount in our account!

It’s like if your parents gave you money to start a lemonade stand and…(haha, just kidding)

I’m reminded of Luke 12:24 “Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!”

It’s easy to look at my financial situation and not feel very financially blessed (and often times I do) but looking back on these numbers just shows how much God is in control of what little cash I have!

Just thought I’d share!

Praise Father for his provision. Isn’t it amazing?? When that stuff happens, it kinda freaks me out. Beautiful are the feet of those who carry His Good News. He keeps providing them shoes.
